Hi PeterI dug some tulips bulbs at Washington Park this weekend and wasn’t able to plant them within a day or two. I was instructed to let the stems/bulbs dry (spead them out) but don’t know if I am suppose to plant them after that (and assume I won’t get blooms next spring) or should I wait until fall to plant, as you usually do with tulips? if I wait until fall, how should I store them? thanks so much! Rebecca

At this point you might as well wait until fall to plant them.  Snip off the dried up leaves and flowers and store them in a cool dry place for the summer.  Plant them in September and add some bone meal to the planting holes.  HERE’S a link to more on fall bulb planting.
