I have a large area to the side of my house in which I have my garden. Plenty of sun throughout the daytime to grow many vegetables. The problem that we have is that we have a ton of clay and in certain parts of the garden there is large buildup of rainwater. Sometimes takes a few days to dry up and is always collecting in the same places in the garden. Just wanted to ask someone if there were a plant, fern or grasses that I could plant in those areas that may help to absorb or use that excess water buildup? Would be super helpful and didn’t want to spend a ton on expensive plants, but wanted to know the best way. Any advice is appreciated. Greg

There are some although, if the area is VERY wet, they may fall short of your expectations.  Another solution would be to bring in soil to elevate the garden area a few inches above the very wet soil to so the plants and survive the wetter days.
